EPAnEK 2014-2020 – Action “Innovation Clusters/ -2nd Tender: Enterprises”
Climate Change, increasingly rapid changes observed in the environment in recent years and the intensity of natural phenomena, can often pose a threat to ecosystems and their local societies. The complexity of natural systems and the increasing tendency in modern societies and technological structures, often makes it difficult to manage crises and disasters, either from natural phenomena or from anthropogenic activity. The awareness of the European or even global scope, in terms of the impact, of certain incidents changes the perspective of the approach and makes it useful to prepare at a preventive and repressive level. The combination of the above with technological development compose a global environment of complexity and interactions and create the need for integrated solutions.
The CO-PROTECT cluster, has as its main objective to bring together all Greek that deal with the development of technologies related to managing natural and man-made disasters, to explore possible synergies that will enable them to offer integrated products and solutions and be more competitive in the Greek, European and international markets.
An additional goal is to achieve interoperability between the products and solutions of the companies, co-deciding on the use of common standards which is necessary for enabling efficient communication among solutions, exchanging of information and cooperation in crisis management of such phenomena. In the context of the project, an infrastructure will be created that will enable continuous demonstration of the integrated solutions of Greek companies for dealing with natural and man-made disasters in a realistic environment.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Action “Innovation Clusters” and is co-financed by the European Union and national funds through the OP. Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation (EPANEK) (project code: ΓΓ2CL-0363842)
